She really disagrees with my generational analysis, claiming that’s not what she meant at all, and she wants us to talk more about her concept of “patriarchal equilibrium,” which she sees as the fundamental contribution of the book.

She didn’t like my golden age comment either. Now that I’ve finally finished the book I understand her points better, although I still don’t agree with all of them.
