For the first time in my life, I’m actually going to spend part of my spring break in Florida. Honestly; the farthest south in college or grad school I ever went was Baltimore. (I know! I was a total grind.)

Everyone I’ve met since age 18 (and moving east) thinks it’s weird I’ve never been to Florida. But you don’t need Florida when you have California.

I loved my week in Florida, all the more because when I left home, it was about 16; got to FL and it was in the mid 60s. At 7PM. So enjoy!

Enjoy! And boy I’m ready. We are also going south for sun and heat — right now it’s 8 degrees F where I am. On the other hand, I look at the snow on the ground and think “water.”

Just got back from Florida: a hideous state in many ways, but there is a great deal to be said for getting some sun on your bare skin and sleeping with the window wide open. Have fun!
